Who We Are
Madeline (Maddy) Wingerath, MSW, LCSW, M.Ed.
Maddy began her psychotherapeutic work after years of working with teens in various settings including wilderness therapy centers and the NYC public school system. Through her academic and professional journey, Maddy has found a passion for social justice, holistic healing, and deep trauma work. Her work is grounded in attachment theories, integrating Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, and parts work. She believes her role as a therapist is to act as an empathetic, authentic, and knowledgeable guide on a journey towards inner-awareness, balance, empowerment, and personal fulfillment.
She looks forward to working with you through challenging issues such as complex trauma, identity, phobias, anxiety and depression, relationships, and sexuality.
Maddy works with children, teens, families, and adults in individual and group settings.
“The force of [the healer] is within everyone… In sanskrit, the word avidya means ‘forgetting,’ and it is said that this is the source of all suffering and dis-ease. The healer’s mission then becomes to move through the comfort of forgetting, through the veils of ignorance and denial to reveal the radiance that already exists. The Healer approaches this in multiple ways, from multiple angles, knowing the cycle of healing is not linear— it is multilayered and circuitous process, always leading back to its own origin…The wounded healer is someone who courageously continues to break open the self and ego as a means for deep integration” (Kranz, 2019).
Olivia Wingerath, LMHC, LPC, LMT
Olivia started working in the healing arts as a dancer and massage therapist, where she holds degrees in both fields. She transitioned to psychotherapy after recognizing that fully embracing trauma could not happen solely through somatic work. She discovered that people can most properly heal when they are seen from a holistic perspective. Her psychotherapeutic style works through a psychodynamic and multicultural lens, in addition to incorporating feminist theory and cognitive behavioral techniques. She works with each client specifically to cultivate a holding space that speaks to each individual’s needs and works with a mindful based approach in order to guide her clients toward self awareness.
Olivia’s areas of focus include new parenting/ postpartum experience (depression, anxiety, etc.), anxiety, trauma, depression, body image related struggle, relationships, and grief. She provides LGBTQ+ inclusive and gender affirming therapy, and provides a sex-positive atmosphere. Olivia’s cultural competency as a clinician is consistently growing and adapting.
Tamini has been in private practice for almost thirty years. She graduated from NYU with a master’s degree in Social Work and then went on to become an adjunct professor for two years teaching clinical social work to master’s level students.
She is passionate and dedicated to her work and her clients. She sees families, couples and individuals. Her philosophy is focused on her clients exploring and finding their authentic voice. Through narrative shifts and reframing, clients organically feel more confident and happy.
She looks forward to working with you.
